Equal Citizen Writes to 10 Downing Street – May 2014

In response to the HMRC announcement regarding Employment Allowance, Equal Citizen felt compelled to write to the Prime Minister himself, questioning the integrity of the new policy:

Every client of mine has received your undated letter in relation to Employment Allowance and many have contacted me asking me to claim it on their behalf. I then had to inform them that they are not eligible to claim it because they “employ someone for personal, household or domestic work, such as a nanny, au pair, chauffeur, gardener, care support worker”

…Disabled people who employ their own assistants contribute to the economy and the employment figures and we are dismayed by the introduction of this policy which does not appear to have considered us.

If you would like to read the whole letter please get in touch and we would be happy to send you a copy.
